I am blessed to have two separate Bonterra Fundraising accounts. In both of the organizations, Ghanaian Mothers' Hope, and The Giving Challenge, the set up in Bonterra has made it easy to share my cause, educating children in Africa, and allowing donors to donate. I have used the events module, peer to peer fundraising, as well as donor data base, email blasts and the reporting functions are amazing.
  • Year End Closing guidelines
  • Event Fundraising options and guidelines
  • Reports on every aspect of your data
  • Easy to use email blasts
  • Faster response for questions
  • On line raffle function
  • A cheaper auction function for small nonprofits
Bonterra is a great option for Guided Fundraising for mid-level nonprofits looking for a full function system including donor data base as well as fundraising. For nonprofits who are at the upper range of being a small nonprofit, taking the risk and using this system could bump them to the next level.

For small nonprofits, the cost is prohibited. The function is great but any nonprofit with less than $75-100K cannot afford this system

Donor software tracking; donations and reporting. Plus we send eblasts, videos, thank yous—generally maintain a patron client base and maintain board reporting.

We find customer service Excellent: quick and accurate.

Also easy to use, accessible to various levels of authority from Boards to Interns, maintaining appropriate security and confidentiality
  • Customer Service
  • Communication with data base
  • Building guided programming for campaigns
  • Easy tracking for manual and online donations
  • Great training
  • Eliminating duplicate files
  • Easier and more immediate refunds
  • Capacity to track membership
Highly recommended! This is an excellent software at a good price to get easy accessibility for all members of staff, the board and volunteers. The Dashboard gives easy graphics that explain our progress and where we need to improve. Customer service is great. Our donations went up year after year through more consistent communication and the software’s easy to follow campaigns. Network for Good took a complex professional field and turned it into something as easy as talking to our neighbors and friends over the backyard fence.

Network for Good makes it easy for us to have an ongoing fundraising campaign as well as a specific campaign for a project. Creating a giving page & sending it out to donors can all be done within minutes. There was a Zoom group training (recorded so you can go back to it) to show us how to create a page, plus our fundraising coach walked us through it while we created our first page. User-friendly!

With Network for Good, you can track group communication & see the statistics, for example, of emails delivered, opened or deleted. You can resend an email to only those who didn’t open it the first time.

It makes it much easier to communicate with our donors with options to text, email, text a video, find an address for a letter. It’s all in one place. Mahalo NUI to Network for Good & our Coach John Gilchrist!
  • Fundraising coaching
  • Options to communicate w/donors
  • Tracking giving & communication for individual donors
  • Connecting household members
We are a small non-profit organization (2 full-time staff & 2 part-time staff) & the price point to purchase Network for Good was what we could afford for the number of donors/volunteers that we needed to manage.

We didn’t need a huge system, but something that could track over a thousand donors/volunteers with room for more & also is user-friendly.
It would have been amazing to have this product from day one of our organization!

We use Network for Good daily at First Call For Help. Whether it be inputting data for the donations we receive through the mail, checking our online donations, and to reference when writing thank you cards to our donors. Our Monday Minute is a newsletter we send out on, you guessed it, Mondays, and we email it to all of our contacts through Network For Good. The convenience of donations tracked in one place solves our problem of needing to figure donor totals at the end of the year for tax purposes.
  • Campaign totals
  • Tracks donors
  • Reporting
  • Communication with donors
  • I know there are areas in Network for Good we don't use at our Non-profit and there may be areas that can improve, but the resources we utilize are easy enough to follow.
First Call For Help holds 2 different fundraising Campaigns each year, a Spring and a Holiday Mail event. Network for Good has been great to collect the donations and report how the campaign is progressing. It tracks our donors and shows how their giving compares year to year which is helpful. When donors are falling behind or no longer giving, this tells us we need to communicate better with them by encouraging different ways donors may choose to become more involved in our organization and support our mission again.

We use it increasingly now for donor appeals, event planning/management/evaluations; strategic automated communications; building support networks; event and Campaign websites. Year-end report data generation, categorizing donors, etc. The program provides systems necessary for easily accessible back office support. We experienced a learning curve initially, however the readily available tutorials, and customer support services have made it possible to move beyond that initial roadblock.
  • Tracks and classifies donor participation
  • Provides communication templates
  • Responds quickly to requests for assistance
  • Networks with other nonprofits
  • Provides multiple services in one site
  • Serves as a donor platform- acknowledges receipt of donations
  • Serves as a repository of important 990 information re; donor appeals. Etc.
  • Provides mechanism for immediate feedback to and from attendees at events
  • Sometimes the site feels too busy on the administrator - there is a lot to track. Requires serious attention from the site administrator
  • It would be helpful to interface all contacts even from other programs with our network for Good Platform automatically.
  • I would make direct deposit the automatic default for receipt of funds
Best suited for donor appeals/communication/follow-ups.
Great comprehensive event planning site - bringing a suite of online support services and pre/post event follow-ups. We used it most recently for out annual program gala and age now in the process of using it to weave the gala seamlessly into our ongoing project and program avyibotird.

I use it to streamline donor management and communication. The agency's previous database was outdated and restrictive, there was no easy way to view trends and lapses. The last person in charge did not believe in email, so there were no email addresses attached to donor records and no way to communicate with them other than snail mail. There was lots of wasted effort and paper, which no longer happens using Network for Good.
  • We imported the last six years of data and were able to reach out to people who hadn't been contacted in that amount of time (thank you, "Lapsed Donor" indication), reviving the relationship and receiving new donations.
  • It's so easy to dash off a quick personalized thank you to event participants when they buy through a NFG link -- we don't generally send individual thanks to people who purchase tickets since they don't always purchase through us, so it's nice to be able to do that easily when they do.
  • I'm a visual person so I appreciate the graphs and charts--they are gratifying!
  • I wish there was a field where I could enter a main contact person for an organization without that person having to already be an individual contact-- some of these organizations change responsible parties all the time
  • It would be nice to be able to merge campaigns. I had created one and entered some donations manually. Then I imported a bunch more and named it the same, assuming they would go into the existing campaign. But they did not, and I ended up with two campaigns of the same name, had to move them all manually and then delete the one I had emptied.
  • I'm not crazy about in-kind donations values being lumped into funds raised, since we don't actually realize the dollar value on many of those.
I love that donors can be categorized in more than one way. For instance, at my old job donors could be only one "type." It was a school and church, and I personally fit three different profiles: alumni, parishioner, and current school parent. But I could only be classified as ONE of those things. The agency where I now use NFG also has people that fit more than one profile, so it's nice to be able to categorize them in every way they fit.

We use Network for Good as our main hub for all donations, email blasts, and contact management. The system makes it easy to stay in touch with our supporters, as well as easily send out the end-of-the-year donation receipts in a professional and efficient manner.
  • easy dashboard
  • easy supporter communication
  • easy to use
  • easy to import
  • easy to streamline
  • More templates
  • High email bounce and rejects
This system streamlines everything I have to do in the donations department and fundraising for our nonprofit.

We use NFG to manage our donations and allow us the tools to communicate effectively with donors. In the future we will be using the platform to control tasks with fundraising efforts and use video campaigns to reach larger audiences. There are many untapped possibilities, and we knew that instead of changing platforms consistently with our growth, we needed to make bold moves from the very beginning to position ourselves for the best success.
  • Video Communication
  • Donor Tracking
  • Communication internally with Fundraising Staff
  • Managing costs for smaller startup Nonprofits
  • Adding the ability to connect merchandise stores
I think NFG is well suited for Nonprofits that have adequate funding and/or are growing quickly. Their backend tools are essential for med-larger Nonprofits that have a higher established donor base. This is where they really shine, taking care of the back end headaches that can occur and bringing them together under one "roof".

I have met with a coach to help and support me in fundraising for our organization. Explaining and training positive usage for the program and the benefits for our organization.
  • Increase donation for our annual Gala.
  • Build relationships with new supporters.
  • Importance of holding and building strong relations.
  • Possibly explain a little more on the front end of the plan. I was a little confused as to what I was getting involved in. But I do enjoy it.
When i met with my tech contact Cory he was very knowledgeable and took extra steps to help.

STEPS' Communications Committee uses NFG. Although not everyone on the committee is registered to use NFG, there are 3 of us who use it. One of the business problem we faced in the beginning was needing to create an email blast in addition to a campaign page, which was confusing and time consuming in the beginning.
  • Provide coaching
  • Organizes donors/amounts
  • Thank you reminders
  • When creating a campaign page - it looks strange with then start/end dates/times shown if campaign runs for more than 1 day
  • NFG should be able to download more than jpeg documents
  • There is no way of changing the delivery time
Network For Good was well-suited for STEPS for a number of reasons. In the past, we weren't using the system we used to it's full potential. With NFG, our coach walked us through the process and showed us what it was that we gain by organizing out donors in groups and to be able to have an instant fundraising record at our fingertips.

We utilize NFG as our donor management system. It has streamlined our donation tracking and donor communications. The built in templates create an ease that translates to relationship building with our audiences. We also use it for fundraising and ticketed events. It is our credit card processor for these activities too. It's so helpful that traditional donations as well as ticketed participation aggregate to the donor profile to create a view of the "whole donor". Knowing how we interact with our participants and donors is crucial to targeted communications that are meaningful. The whole organization uses it. Our board member are able to review data which inspires them to become more involved with strategic outreach. NFG pulled together multifaceted touchpoints, including social media, that we needed to expand and has become our partner in growth.
  • Templates at our fingertips.
  • Tracks Tasks.
  • Suggests communications that are well thought out and easy to implement.
  • Great access to customer support! The chat people are very helpful and the tutorials are always available.
  • Filters and groups help with analytics so much.
  • Easy copy paste of links for social media access.
  • The accounting tracking and exporting of transactions is great.
  • Ease of import and export to Excel.
  • Some of the templates are rigid.
  • Households could be easier to merge and separate depending on the action. Sometimes only one person out of a household attended an event and the salutation always includes the whole household.
  • Waiting 30 days for payments is hard on our monthly budgets. We close out each month very close to the end of that month, so we had to adjust our budgets which is hard when we compare to previous years by month.
  • More easy capturing all the interactions each donor or event participant has with us would be great. Like if it automatically clicked the button for a certain group if they bought a ticket for that group. Then I could export a group list faster by category.
  • We have not intertwined our QuickBooks with NFG yet as I heard that was a tough transition.
NFG is well suited for multifaceted organization that interacts with their audiences both as donors and participants. It helps grow both sides of that interaction. Concert goers become donors and donors become concert goers. The more positive memories made at our venue the more loyalty in the donations. NFG may be less useful for an organization that relies on cash/month and has no float room to build revenue. It may be less useful for an organization that is not interacting with donors via social media or internet - but NFG is perfect for small organizations that are growing in that way. NFG makes it easy to interact and communicate with donors. NFG is great in that we were able to cancel our subscriptions with Constant Contact and PayPal since NFG provides those services.

Network for Good keeps our database and donor outreach software in one place and includes an easy-to-view snapshot of the current financial quarter and giving (online and offline) over the past year. Our favorite part of Network for Good is its centralized design--Network for Good keeps your database of donors, email, print mailing, and text outreach (not to mention a great video message tool) in one place without having to log in to multiple sites for different services. It is lighter on the automation side of things, but we have found it a far better product in the long run than Salesforce and Pardot (previously used).
  • Donor outreach tools (email, text, video, print mailing tools)
  • Database management
  • Easy and effective donation pages
  • Automation processes (automatically sending separate emails to "opened" and "did not open" groups, etc.)
Well suited for nonprofits of every stripe. Smaller nonprofits might have a harder time with some of the back-end manual work that needs to be done to maintain correct offline giving numbers and to curate/keep updated segmented lists for mailings.

Network for Good is being used as the engine for revenue generation, capturing donors, campaigns, results, and allowing us to develop or enhance personal relationships with donors/prospective donors. We have a group of five individuals, our core development team, that meets weekly to develop revenue generation plans and execute them.
  • Database allows easy access to donor and prospect information
  • Campaign setup and tracking are much easier than in a non-DMS environment
  • The dashboard is a useful in-your-face reminder
  • I'd love to see a funnel management tool--I've created one but it is outside Network for Good
If you are moving from a paper/Excel-based world into a donor management system, Network for Good is great because all the toys are in one box. As we compared DMS options, other systems might have cost less or had more functionality in a specific area, but Network for Good had it all, and being able to manage holistically meant it was (ultimately) less management overhead.

We utilize the data management tool. This tool has allowed us to consolidate our donors; to track individual donations, the frequency of donations, how long since a donor actually made a donation, to categorize donors into groups (which is very helpful for us); and to provide to every donor with an immediate receipt as well as a year-end summary report for their individual tax reporting. The tool allows me to send out broadcast email messages, to create individual thank you videos, to develop focused fundraising campaigns, and to write and deliver our newsletter. I can track tasks, it reminds me to send thank you letters, and I can compare year-over-year performance. In addition to the data management tool, Network for Good provides consultants who are experts at development. I needed that help, as my background is not in development and fundraising. My consultant was wonderful and I learned a lot the year we worked together. Lastly, there are several webinars that you can attend regarding a myriad of issues associated with fundraising. We intend to keep Network for Good for the foreseeable future.
  • Donor management
  • Donor communication
  • Access to experts
  • Webinars
  • Better instructions on how to use the tool for newsletters
  • Faster response when needing help with data
  • Include a tier structure for consultant access
If you are a small nonprofit, the data management tool provided by Network for Good is invaluable. The tool will allow you to better understand your donors and provide you with the tools to keep up good communication. It addresses the issues regarding donations that are tax deductible and the requirement to provide a summary report to each donor. In short, it has made my life significantly easier and I cannot see us managing without it.

Our Development and Finance departments use Network for Good to keep track of donations and to communicate with donors.
  • Their customer service is excellent.
  • Their interface is very easy to use.
  • They have a lot of education opportunities.
  • Their price point is very reasonable.
  • Easy functioning for recording grants.
  • It took some getting used to learning which interface to use - the donor info back end or the donation platform front end.
Network for Good is easy to use and understand, so it is a great option if you don't want to have a big learning curve or if you aren't familiar with database administration.
